Julian Pan

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Julian graduated with his M.S.E. and B.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. His work and research focused on solving healthcare problems using engineering and operations research techniques such as stochastic patient flow modeling, operating room scheduling and inpatient bed cluster sizing. He has worked extensively with hospitals in the United States and Singapore providing consulting services. His primary role is in the overall operation of the company, sales, implementation, business and strategic development of the company.

Jonathan Helm

Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Jonathan is currently a faculty member of Indiana University Kelley School of Business in the Operations and Decision Technologies department. He has a Ph.D. from University of Michigan’s Industrial and Operations Engineering department with a research focus on healthcare operations and medical decision making. He received a B.A. in Math and Computer Science and an M.Eng. from Cornell University. Jonathan has extensive experience in operations improvement in healthcare delivery in the US, Europe, and Asia. His primary role is to lead and improve the product’s technical capabilities, develop new technologies, product customizations and implementations.

Mark Van Oyen

Co-Founder and Technical Advisor

Mark is currently a faculty member of University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Industrial and Operations Engineering. His primary research focus is on healthcare operations, which includes the analysis, design, control, and management with emphasis on Emergency Department design, hospital patient flow, smoothing of census, improving access, and operational decision support system. He was a faculty member of the Northwestern University School of Engineering (1993-2005) and Loyola Univ. of Chicago’s School of Business Administration (1999-2005). His primary role is product development and improvement strategy. His role includes identifying future talent and is also involved in building upon the extensive relationships with hospitals and healthcare networks made as a researcher to potential business customers.

William VanNess M.D.

Co-Founder and Physician Consultant

Dr. VanNess currently serves as Physician Consultant to LCS. His primary focus is to leverage on his professional experience and expertise to better connect LCS to the needs of healthcare -- outcomes, hospitals and physicians. In 2013, he was appointed by then Indiana Governor Mike Pence as the Indiana State Health Commissioner. He has served as a member of the Executive Board for the Indiana State Department of Health from 2006 to 2012. From 1997 to 2013, he was the President and CEO of Community Hospital of Anderson and Madison County. Community Hospital of Anderson is an affiliate of Community Health Network. Prior to his stint at Community Hospital of Anderson, he practiced family medicine in his clinic in Summitville, IN and was on staff at Community Hospital Anderson and St. John’s Medical Center in Anderson.

Jivan Deglise-Hawkinson

Chief Scientist

Jivan has a Ph.D. from University of Michigan’s Industrial and Operations Engineering department with a research focus on healthcare operations, capacity/resource planning, and patient access management. Jivan received a B.A. (License) in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Savoie, France, and spent his first two years of graduate school in a mathematics and statistics masters program in University Joseph Fourrier, Grenoble, France. Jivan has extensive experience in various healthcare system settings, and has worked with hospitals/clinics in Europe, the US, and Asia. His primary role is to develop new technologies and research, taking the research and translating them into an implementable product, and improve the current LCS suite of product’s technical capabilities.

Li Ziyang

Product Developer

Ziyang has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is also a trained full-stack software engineer with strong programming capabilities. His primary role is to serve as the main product developer for LCS suite of products and interface with the implementation and research team to ensure that efficiency, security, usability and maintainability are achieved while developing products to meet the requirements of clients and LCS’ ever-evolving analytic models.

Pang Jia Rong

Healthcare Analyst

Jia Rong received a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan with a research focus on capacity and resource planning of retail pharmacy. His primary role is develop our products, conduct analysis and identify possible improvements that can be made on existing products.

Chia Kai Xuan

Healthcare Analyst

Kai Xuan has a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He specializes in Econometrics and Mathematical Statistics. His primary role is to develop our products and applications with new technologies and to improve our existing offerings. He also serves as the product specialist and interfaces with our software developers to ensure accurate coding logic implementation and testing

Andrew Leitner

Client Relations

Andrew has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois and has over 10 years of experience in sales and financial management for industry leading companies. His primary role is to use these experiences and skillsets to develop relationships with prospective clients, show them the benefits of the LCS suite of products from a patient-care and financial perspective, and serve as liaison to help connect our customers with the developers, analysts, and support staff.

Greggory Schell

Research and Development Associate

Gregg is a Ph.D. candidate in the Industrial and Operations Engineering Department at the University of Michigan and is jointly enrolled in the Statistics Department. He graduated with his B.S.E. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his M.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research focus is on filtered classification techniques and stochastic sequential resource allocation models in medical decision making contexts. His primary role is to develop patient-specific statistical models and consultation on stochastic modeling.
